Some humans think that the world is full of lies and darkness and evil beings. They see demons and bombs and bumbling fools. They trust not in kindness but in instinctive survival. They live either in an apocalyptic dream or in a silo of stilted reality.
I don’t believe that for a second.
The world is packed with truths. They might be hidden or obscured, but they’re there. Sometimes humans see a glimpse of the truth and choose to ignore it, feigning ignorance and pleading innocence. They become victims of their stories and the tales told by those tottering on the brink of indefinite ideals.
No one is guiltless though. Every person is connected through actions and inactions, behaviors and performances. There’s an invisible glimmering spiderweb that spans the globe and touches everyone and everything. When one strand is pulled it sends a ripple across the web that can have far reaching effects. Even a single, strong tug can untether a fiber and send entire populations reeling.
What is your place on this web? Are you a spider weaving wonders or a fly tangled in traps of mistruths and nescience?
You might not know, and that is alright. We will journey together and find our place. We will explore the world, diving into an expanse of knowledge and experience as vast and unending as the endlessness of space. Going on an adventure such as this can be daunting, but we will find solace in our company and the companionship of others.
There will be moments as beautiful as the glittering dew glistening on growing grass on an early spring morning. There will be ideas that incite feelings to tumble within us and topple out in trembles and timid tears. There will be consoling thoughts that wrap us in the comfort of a warming fire that whispers us to sleep on a winter night.
The truth can be many things: terrific, tenuous, tumultuous, tiny, tremendous, and more. What you feel is up to you, but let us feel something together. Let us be together now and in the times we need each other most. We’ll be friends on this foray as we search not just for meaning, but the shining truth in things both large and little. Here, there is no vitriol or violence. Solely questions and queries as we parse through pieces and parts of the whole of the world.
Let us venture onward.
